| Luvcorfu presents its own TV show |
Luvcorfu Properties has its own media subsidiary, Luvcorfu Productions, which publishes several newspapers and produces a weekly television show.
Corfu Home and Away is a weekly television show in English (with Greek subtitles) which is broadcast on Telekerkyra, a local TV station, on Saturdays at 14.00 (repeated Wednesdays 20.00). Presented by Harry and Hilary, this magazine show lasts half an hour and covers news and events relating to Corfu. A series of hard-hitting reports have exposed scandals - and in many cases these reports have succeeded in reversing trends.
Corfu Home and Away visited the Mainland village of Lias last summer to interview Nicholas Gage (Nikos Gatzoyiannis), author of ‘Eleni’, the powerful book about the Greek Civil War, which centered on his mother’s sacrifice to save her children from the communist guerrillas. The crew filmed Nick presenting locations featured in the book. A second show, recorded at the same time, looked at Lias’ present and future, with Eleni Gage, Nick’s daughter and author of the recently published travelogue ‘North of Ithaca’, as guest.

The show has also travelled extensively in Europe and the UK, with the last trip to Albania.
Luvcorfu Productions also produces four local newspapers, including a Greek-language periodical, ‘Ta Nea ton Feakon’. The other three are English-language resort-based newspapers which appear twice during the summer season and contain information for holidaymakers about each resort. They are called Sidari News, North East Coast News and North West Corfu News and are distributed free in and around the resorts. Luvcorfu Productions also retains strong ties with Corfu’s English-language magazine, The Corfiot, which has been published monthly since 1991.
